Theatrical Burlesque Fundamentals

Showcase

24 June 2026

Our talented performers have followed the Theatrical Burlesque Fundemantals course, and are ready to show you what they’ve learned. With both a group number and individual solo acts, you can expect story telling, choreography and lots of fun!

In this course, participants have learned a group choreography to expand their burlesque choreographical repertoire; they were coached and guided through creating a solo act; they can do practical exercises to create burlesque that tells a story, connects with the audience, and allows the performer to shine; and finally they will perform in an end-of course performance.

Want to show your support for these fantastic performers? Want to see brand new burlesque acts? Then join us, June 24th only at De Kleine Reus!

Madison Jolliffe

Madison Jolliffe is a theatre director and acting teacher who has dived into the burlesque world and now performs as Lola Nightshade around the Netherlands. She’s also the artistic director and choreographer of The Cat Eye Cabaret, a neo-burlesque collective based in Utrecht that produces many shows each year. Last year, they created a theatre piece that used Burlesque dramaturgy and performance techniques with collaborators Al Tom and Olivia woods. The show, Fantasizing Phryne, premiered in Germany and will be touring this year under the title Amuse. This course is the ultimate combination of Madison’s passions- teaching theatre and dance, getting people in touch with their power through sensuality, mentoring and collaborating with other artists, and creating exciting performances.
