Support us through your employer with Benevity
Many companies, including Booking.com, use Benevity to support employee engagement in social impact initiatives.
If your company uses Benevity, you can help the Cauldron continue to offer theatre, workshops, and events that are community driven, inclusive, and affordable.
How to donate with Benevity
-
1. Using your company’s Benevity portal, register or log in to your account.
2. In the “Find nonprofits” search bar, type in “the Cauldron” and click “Search.”
3. Click the result for The Cauldron (see image).
-
1. Click “Donate Now” to make a one-time or recurring monetary donation. You can choose to pay with:
A credit or debit card
Apple Pay
PayPal
2. Your giving account balance - These are Benevity credits for volunteer hours logged in Benevity. You can donate credits earned by volunteering for an organization to any cause you choose.
3. Click “Request A Match” to request a matching donation from your company for a monetary donation you previously made to the Cauldron, not using the Benevity portal.
4. Click “Track Time” to log your time volunteering with the Cauldron.
-
Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
You’ll receive a tax receipt from Benevity which you can use when filing your taxes.
-
If your company allows payroll giving through Benevity:
Donations are taken directly from your paycheck, and can reduce your taxable income.
You may not need a separate receipt at tax time — your pay stub or annual payroll summary might be enough.
-
When your employer matches your donation (e.g., you give $50, they give $50):
You only claim your portion ($50 in this example) for tax purposes.
The matched amount is not considered part of your income, so there’s no tax owed on it, but also no deduction.
-
If you volunteer and your company donates money to the Cauldron on your behalf (e.g., $10 per hour volunteered):
You do not claim this as a deduction, because it's not your personal donation. However, it's a great way to support the nonprofit without a financial cost to you.
