Confidential Musical Theatre Project

The Second Annual

13 September 2025 - doors 19:00, show 19:30-21:30
Het Amsterdams Theaterhuis

[SOLD OUT]

The show has been selected, and everyone involved is sworn to secrecy, they can’t even reveal which show they’re in!

There are no rehearsals. Just adrenaline, instinct, and a whole lot of trust.

The audience is also totally in the dark… until the lights go down, the music starts, and the secret is out!

Will it go perfectly? Definitely not.
Will it be unforgettable? Absolutely.

Join us for this special one night only performance. Expect surprises. Embrace the chaos. Celebrate the magic of live theater!

What’s CMTP?

Created by Marion Abbott, CMTP is a unique theatre experience where:

  • Participants audition without knowing the show.

  • They learn their role solo over 7 weeks, guided only by Director and Music Director notes.

  • They meet their cast just two hours before showtime!

  • The audience knows the concept - but not the show

It’s live theater meets improv, and the only rule is: keep going and have fun!

To ensure equal opportunities:

(1) We are committed to casting different performers in lead roles every year, to expand the community and create more casting opportunities.

(2) WE DO NOT CHARGE CASTING FEES, ensuring there are no financial barriers for any applicants.

Meet the Team

Madison Jolliffe
Director

Madison Jolliffe (they/she) is a theatre director, dramaturg, performer and teacher.

They direct and make with the theatre collective Utopia Syndicate based in Utrecht, which cultivates a practice of radical imagination, prefigurative politics, and utopian speculation with the aim of fostering hope. They also direct and teach acting for The Cauldron and other theatre companies in Amsterdam. Their most recent performance, which she co-wrote, co-directed and starred in, Fantasizing Phryne, premiered in Germany this summer.

Outside of the theatre world, Madison directs and choreographs The Cat Eye Cabaret, a neo-burlesque company in Utrecht where she also performs as Lola Nightshade. They hold a Master’s degree in Contemporary Theatre, Dance and Dramaturgy from Utrecht University and a BFA in Performance Creation from Concordia University in Montreal.

Elliot Morgan
Music Director

An avid musician, Elliot has been involved in the Amsterdam musical theatre scene for almost 6 years.

Having played piano, guitar, bass, and theremin in different shows over this time, he has also more recently stepped back into musical directing roles, most recently as Band Director for Happily Ever After's Chicago, for which he (and his incredible band) won Broadway World's Best Music Direction & Orchestra Performance.

After taking a year's hiatus from the stage, he is very excited to be back in the theatre for the Confidential Musical Project.
