Burlesque course
15 April until 24 July 2026
In this course, participants will learn a group choreography to expand their burlesque choreographical repertoire; be coached and guided through creating a solo act; do practical exercises to create burlesque that tells a story, connects with the audience, and allows the performer to shine; and finally perform in an end-of course performance for friends and family. All of this in a low stakes, friendly and playful environment.
This course is created for three different types of people! Theatre people who have been wanting to dip their toes into burlesque, burlesque performers who want to learn practical tools to make their work more theatrical, and anyone who has interest in burlesque and would like to be guided through the process of creating an act!

Madison Jolliffe
Madison Jolliffe is a theatre director and acting teacher who has dived into the burlesque world and now performs as Lola Nightshade around the Netherlands. She’s also the artistic director and choreographer of The Cat Eye Cabaret, a neo-burlesque collective based in Utrecht that produces many shows each year. Last year, they created a theatre piece that used Burlesque dramaturgy and performance techniques with collaborators Al Tom and Olivia woods. The show, Fantasizing Phryne, premiered in Germany and will be touring this year under the title Amuse. This course is the ultimate combination of Madison’s passions- teaching theatre and dance, getting people in touch with their power through sensuality, mentoring and collaborating with other artists, and creating exciting performances.
